
Professional Experience
Emma Bevan is a UK and European Patent Attorney with over 25 years’ experience advising on intellectual property protection and strategy. She combines a strong technical background in life sciences and advanced instrumentation with a deep interest in emerging technologies such as blockchain, Web3, and decentralised systems.
Throughout her career, Emma has worked with innovators at every stage of the R&D and commercialisation process – from start-ups to global corporates – helping them identify, protect, manage, and leverage their intellectual property. Her practice covers a wide range of technologies including biotechnology, robotics, acoustic droplet ejection, and laboratory automation, with extensive experience in drafting, prosecution, EPO oppositions and appeals, and international portfolio management.
In parallel, Emma is active in the blockchain ecosystem, mentoring founders and speaking at accelerator and investor events on IP strategy. She has also lectured at international conferences on European patent law, sharing insights on best practice, procedural developments, and emerging trends in innovation protection.
